The Lim Hoon Foundation is a private charitable trust created in August 2008 with the primary objective of promoting academic achievement for all students, at all levels, primary through university with a focus on those from low income families.

Scholarship at SMU

The Lim Hoon Foundation Scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate students from the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, the School of Accountancy or the School of Economics at Singapore Management University.

Tao Nan Alumni Association Awards

The foundation was named after John’s father, Mr. Lim Hoon, who was an ex-teacher at Tao Nan. As a family, across three generations, the foundation has accumulated approximately 150 years of combined education and service as educators to Tao Nan.

Community Education Awards

The Community Education Awards are currently held at Boon Lay CCC, Mountbatten CCC and Punggol West CCC. The awards aim to support, strengthen and encourage all-rounded achievement of students who come from challenging backgrounds.

Dyslexia Association of Singapore

The Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) and the foundation launched the DAS 360° Pact to raise awareness and provide pivotal support for students with dyslexia and other co-occurring learning difficulties in Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs).
